Let’s have some fun and start a viral #PetCostumeParade! Share a pic of your fur-friend in costume using the hashtag: #PetCostumeParade. Read, set, go!
When the Easter bunny comes to your house, make sure he leaves behind some treats for your pups! It’s a family tradition we do every year – really easy to do and fun to watch!
Step 1: Take their favorite cookie treat, and break it up into smaller bite size pieces
Step 2: Dip each piece in a bit of peanut butter
Step 3: Show them their plate of treats before you hide them – they will go crazy!
Step 4: Without your pup(s) watching, have the “Easter Bunny” hide the treats all over your yard
Step 5: The hunt begins!
Happy New Year!
We hope everyone has a wonderful time celebrating 2012 with your goldens! Remember to keep your pups safe and inside at night – fireworks, firecrackers, etc. can spook them and cause them to flee! Also, be sure to turn on a TV or two to distract them.
It’s been an incredible year for our family – as we welcomed a (two-legged) baby into our family! Our two goldens have been wonderful with her – Goldens are truly the perfect family dog!
What was your favorite memory from 2012? What are you looking forward to in 2013?
Happy 4th of July to you and your goldens!
While it’s fun to have your pup outside enjoying the celebration – please, please, please be careful and keep your dogs inside during the fireworks show! Even the calmest of dogs can bet spooked and run away from the sound of fireworks (sadly, we learned this lesson the hard way – read about our scary experience here). July 5th is the busiest day of the year for animal shelters!
Have a wonderful celebration everyone! God bless America and those who have served and continue to serve to protect our freedom!
Wanted to wish you and your pups a Happy Memorial Day Weekend!! We hope you enjoy the day doing what you enjoy most with your family, friends, and puppy dogs.
Please take time to remember why we celebrate this day – and to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country’s freedom, as well as all those who have served and continue to serve. We are the land of the free because of the brave!
This is one of our all-time favorite YouTube videos – of a Golden reuniting with her mom after a long deployment in Afghanistan. Warning: this will bring tears to your eyes – so have a tissue handy!
Happy Easter golden lovers! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!
This morning the Easter Bunny came to our house and hid little peanut butter treats all over the backyard! Needless to say, the dogs had a great time finding them all. It’s pretty impressive how powerful their sense of smell is! Not a single treat went undiscovered – and some were very well hidden!
Enjoy the rest of this wonderful day! Here are some fun photos to make you smile 🙂
Wanted to wish you all and your goldens a Happy St. Patricks Day! I’m sure you’re all feeling luckier than ever that you’ve got a beautiful golden to love. Pot o’ gold? No – I’ll take a paw o’ golden 🙂
I found this adorable photo on the web.. this is 10 year old Lucky! Perfect name for his awesome outfit!
And meet PangPang! A Golden rescued thanks to the team at Project Taiwan Looks like this pup found her pot o’ gold with a loving home!
I can’t help but think Quincey has strong Irish roots with his beautiful rich red coat. In fact, Golden Retrievers came from breeding the Irish Setter with other various breeds, and it’s roots go back to starting in nearby Scotland in the mid eighteenth century (a little bit of history I pulled from Wikipedia!)
Well, to have Quincey join in the celebration of his heritage – we let him lick our Guinness pint glasses clean 🙂
Happy St. Patricks Day everyone!
Wanted to share some of the great photos we received from Love Your Pet Day! There are a lot of lucky pups out there – thanks for sharing everyone!

Today is also Fat Tuesday!! Laissez les bon temps rouler! Quincey wore some beads to celebrate the occasion
But then – Roxy flashed Quincey, so he gave them to her 🙂
Just heard that today is “Love Your Pet Day” – isn’t every day that? 🙂
Maybe today you can do just a little extra pampering for your pet.. An extra 5 minutes of belly scratching? Homemade dog biscuits? A trip to their favorite park?
We’d love for everyone to share their favorite pics of them and their loved pet on our facebook fan page! We’ll include them in tomorrow’s Post-Love Your Pet Day blog post. Here’s one of our facebook fans, Jane, and her two beautiful Goldens that she rescued!
